SLOVAKS view their country as one of the least attractive business locations, a new survey shows. Out of those populations polled only Poland, Portugal, Italy and France believe the business environment in their own countries is worse.
The "Global Reputation Study 2005" details how residents rate the reputation of certain of their nation's institutions, such as healthcare providers, telecom providers, political parties, the postal service, financial/banking outlets and supermarkets, as well as other factors such as attractiveness as a business location.
The corporate reputation index, conducted by the TNS SK agency, included 40 countries worldwide. It allows comprehensive cross-country and cross-industry comparisons.
Slovaks rated healthcare provision in their country very low, with only the Poles giving their healthcare service lower marks. In politics, only Poland and Japan rank their countries lower.
Slovak telephone providers got relatively good marks, coming in 18th on the index. The telecom companies received a mark of 46, two above the average 44. Banks and supermarkets also received good marks from Slovaks.
TNS SK carried out the "Global Reputation Study 2005" during the final quarter of 2004, surveying almost 37,000 respondents in North and Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
