Slovaks use less water

THE STATISTICS Office announced that Slovakia has posted a decrease in the use of drinking water, as the demand fell 5.3 percent year-on-year to 255 million cubic metres.

Overall production of drinking water registered a minor drop - by 0.6 percent to 372 cubic metres.

A decrease was also recorded in wastewater use.

While 428.1 cubic meters of wastewater were released last year, down 10.3 percent year-on-year, the amount treated in wastewater treatment plants fell nearly 10 percent to 412.1 cubic metres.
