SLOVAK refinery Slovnaft has signed a six-year outsourcing deal with the Bratislava branch of the Accenture consultancy company, which will provide Slovnaft with accounting and document-management services.
Under the deal, Slovnaft will transfer more than 100 accounting and archiving positions to Accenture's Bratislava office in an effort to improve efficiency and cut costs.
"By outsourcing non-core transactional functions and allowing Accenture to manage these, we are achieving this objective.
"This arrangement will also enable us to save on costs, control the services delivered to us and, as a knock-on effect, foster a service mentality within our organisation as a whole," said Slovnaft boss Vratko Kaššovič.
Accenture, which split from the troubled Arthur Andersen group in 2000, will be responsible for accounting, reporting, invoicing and document management for the Slovnaft refinery in Bratislava as well as its network of 320 petrol stations in Slovakia.
