THE SLOVAK oil refinery and main filling station operator Slovnaft increased gas prices as of April 4, citing growing oil prices on world markets, company spokesperson Hana Šimková said.
On average, the price of diesel increased by Sk0.50 per litre, while petrol prices went up by Sk1.30 (€0.03) per litre.
"Slovnaft changed its petrol prices six weeks ago, lowering them by Sk0.60 per litre. Since then, crude oil prices have increased several times," Šimková said.
Šimková argued that if Slovnaft had increased its petrol prices to fully reflect the growth of oil prices on the global market, the increase would have been Sk2.50 per litre.
