The Czech company Smartwings is launching seasonal lines from Bratislava and Košice to Antalya, Turkey at the end of May.
The popular airport on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea is a traditional destination of the Czech company, but only charter flights fly there from Slovakia, the TASR newswire wrote.
Twice a day from Bratislava
“The regular Smartwings Bratislava – Antalya line will run from May 30 twice a day and the Košice – Antalya line from May 31 five times a week,” said Vladimíra Dufková, spokesperson of Smartwings, as quoted by TASR.
Both lines are planes within the summer flight schedule and their operation should end in October.
No direct competition
Antalya is a popular holiday destination. Besides Smartwings, the Turkish airlines SunExpress will fly from Prague to Antalya.

However, there is no direct competition for the lines from Bratislava and Košice.
Only the Irish airlines Ryanair offers flights from Bratislava to Turkey, the seasonal line flying to Dalaman airport near the destination of Marmaris.
