MICHAEL Smyth is the new president of AmCham in Slovakia, replacing Róbert Šimončič who resigned after accepting an offer to serve as the director general of the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO), the SITA newswire reported.
Smyth is the general director of Dell Bratislava and has been a member of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia since April 2008.
The organisation was established in 1993 and its members include more than 300 international and Slovak companies that generate about 20 percent of Slovakia’s gross domestic product (GDP).
