Fixed line monopoly Slovak Telecom made a net profit of Sk2.47 billion ($52 million) in the first nine months of this year, up 8% on the same period last year.
In summer 2000 the company was privatised by German telecoms giant Deutsche Telecom.
ST will lose its monopoly as of January 1 2003.
