State budget revenues to fall to 20.8% of GDP next year

The portion of the Slovak GDP that is redistributed through the state budget will continue to decrease next year, according to the Finance Ministry. The ministry's state budget outline for the year 2000 projects expenditures of 208.3 billion Slovak crowns and revenues of 190.3 billion crowns, which is 20.8% of the GDP figure projected for 2000.

In 1996, the share of budget revenues on GDP was 28.1%; in 1997 this ratio fell to 24.6% and to 23.1% the following year. State budget revenues are expected to represent 22% of the GDP in 1999.
