REGISTERED foreigners make up less than 1 percent of the labour force in Slovakia.

In February, out of a total of 2.35 million employed persons in Slovakia, 21,358 were foreigners.
This means that every 110th employee is from abroad, the TASR newswire reported, citing data released by the Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Centre (ÚPSVaR) in early April.

The highest number of registered foreign workers (4,237) comes from Romania, followed by the Czech Republic (3,179), Poland (2,235), Hungary (1,585) and Ukraine (978).

Among Asian countries, the largest groups employed in Slovakia are from the Republic of Korea (844), followed by those from Vietnam and China, totalling over 600.

ÚPSVaR’s statistics show one employee each from Madagascar, Nicaragua, Zambia, Jamaica and Puerto Rico.
