The number of people receiving unemployment benefits grew by 5,919 (to 73,797) in June compared with May. Of the total number of unemployed 23.7% receive unemployment benefits (the remainder, unemployed for more than 6 months, receives social benefits). Of the total number of those receiving unemployment benefits, 50% are women, 21% are recent graduates and 6.6% are handicapped.
