Swedwood sinks roots deeper

THE SWEDISH furniture producer Swedwood is considering an expansion of its three plants in Slovakia, which would bring an investment of almost Sk2 billion (€49.17 million).

Ľubomír Nemec, the head of the Slovak branch of Swedwood, told the state news agency TASR that his firm has already approved a Sk660 million (€16.23 million) investment for the expansion of its plant in Malacky, which produces kitchen furniture and cupboards.

He added that another investment worth Sk600 million (€14.75 million) in a Swedwood plant in Závažná Poruba was close to being approved. An expansion of the plant in Trnava is also under consideration.
