THE NEW management of the Tatra Air carrier that provides regular flights from Sliač in Central Slovakia to Prague has been given an ultimatum by its majority shareholder, the Banská Bystrica regional government - turn the company around, or else.
Under the terms of the ultimatum, the company has to stabilize its losses by the end of June, and secure a break-even result by the end of February 2007, or the owner will force the airline to file for bankruptcy.
The company is discussing the possibility of introducing regular service from Sliač to Vienna.
Tatra Air's cumulative losses stand at Sk13 million (€340,000), while its debt to České Aerolínie (ČSA) comes to CZK4 million (€140,000)
