- Recent and possible tax changes in the region - response to the financial crisis (“credit crunch”);
- Regional impact of the EU VAT package (update on the EU directive regarding VAT on financial services, option to tax, cost sharing groups, taxation of vouchers);
- Partnerships with tax authorities in the region: towards effective tax administration (a look at state audit and controls);
- OECD treaty-related issues and impact on the region.
Among invited speakers to address the issues are Slovak Deputy Finance Minister Peter Kažimír and his counterparts from the Ministries of Finance in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland; Governor of the National Bank of Slovakia Ivan Šramko; EU Commissioner, DG Tax representatives; Christoph B. Rosenberg, senior regional representative of the Interna- tional Monetary Fund; Jeffrey Owens, irector of the OECD Centre on Tax Policy and Administration.
