Shortcomings were discovered in the Tesco storage area, according to Dennik N daily which first broke the news on its website.
“Dirt was found under the dangerous waste container and underneath metal pallets: remnants of wrappings, pieces of paper and wood splinters from pallets,” reads the ŠVPS report.

Inside the store, the space below the grating of a refrigerated showcase for food products was significantly polluted by food remains and clusters of dust.
Unwrapped baked goods such as loaves of bread were offered for sale without any protective covering and were therefore open to contamination.
Tesco Stores has received four previous fines, each into the seven-figure range, from ŠVPS for shortcomings detected at its stores.
