THE BEŠEŇOVÁ thermal park near Žilina will invest Sk240 million (€6.2 million) in 2005 in an effort to boost the number of visitors to the tourist centre.
The complex will expand from its current 3,000 to 8,000 hectares, the TASR news agency wrote.
Plans for the facility's expansion, to be completed by the end of 2005, include several indoor pools, a relaxation centre, a parking lot and a new hotel.
"Bešeňová holiday resort will also offer services for congress tourism," said Martin Hromada of the thermal park's marketing department.
Last year, approximately 500,000 tourists visited Bešeňová thermal park, slightly more than in 2003.
The thermal park uses hot, therapeutic water that is taken from springs 1,987 metres underground.
