FOUNDING documents of the Bratislava and Košice airports were signed by Transport Minister Pavol Prokopovič on April 26, marking the start of the transformation process of the state-controlled airport firms.
According to the private news agency SITA, as soon as the founding documents are registered and the two companies are entered in the corporate registry, the Transport Ministry will announce international tenders to find strategic investors for the two companies.
Prokopovič told SITA that the cities of Bratislava and Košice will acquire a share in the companies, but he would not specify how big the stakes would be.
The two airports are currently administered by the Slovak Airport Administration, which will be transformed into six trade companies.
The cabinet approved a draft bill that concerns the transformation of the Slovak Airport Administration last October.
