Piešťany
A time-tested classic of Slovakia’s balneal industry, Piešťany was inspired by the Crutch-breaker, a town statue that has become a symbol of the spa. After a visit here you can break your crutches too. The spa will revitalise your joints and your locomotive organs. The secret of the spa lies in the warm, healing mud and its mineral-rich, thermal waters, which you can bathe in and drink. Due to the quality of the spa and the accommodation services, the prestigious US publishing house Lonely Planet included Piešťany this year in its list of Europe’s Top 20 spas.

Dudince
Even the Romans knew the healing effects of the waters in Dudince. This spa has several unique features, including its unique mineral water, whose composition is similar to the French spa of Vichy, and which has a beneficial effect on the heart and the nervous system. Dudince can also boast of a rich collection of ‘mosts’: the most southern spa in Slovakia, the highest number of sunny days, the smallest number of windy days, the cleanest environment and the most peaceful and greenest spa town.

Brusno
The captivating nature of central Slovakia, with its vast forests, its proximity to the Low Tatra mountains, and an 18-hole golf course at Grey Bear at Tále, offers a rare sense of peace for your soul. As if that wasn’t reason enough to head to Brusno, the mineral water springs in its spa complex can help revive your digestion, make your body move and soothe your heart.

Tatras
Our tips would not be complete without mentioning our Alpine-style mountains. The Tatras are mainly about hiking and exercising in the clean, fresh and healthy mountain air. So whether you are running out of breath, or you have trouble breathing, the Tatras are the right place for your lungs. This is true despite the fact that there are fewer trees than there were 10 years ago. However, it is not the trees in the Tatras that promote healing, but rather the altitude and the unique air.

Červený Kláštor
Pieniny’s attractions are not just about the flying monk Cyprián who collected and dried herbs, or the unmissable raft ride down the Dunajec River. The recently reconstructed spa “Smerdžonka” is also worth discovering. A high content of hydrogen sulphides gives it its unmistakable smell, but the effects are unrivalled. After a visit to the northeast of Slovakia, you will feel reborn. The water and the peacefulness of the untouched nature will improve your digestion, cleanse your skin, calm your nerves and activate your joints.
