US firm choosing site for plant

Kennametal, the US manufacturer of industrial machines, is currently choosing a site for its new plant in central Europe. Investment hopefuls are Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary, wrote the SITA news wire.

During the next three or four years the company wants to invest €10 to €15 million in a new production plant. This figure may later rise to as much as €50 million, according to the Warsaw Business Journal.

Ondrej Žember, spokesman for the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency, told the SITA news agency that Kennametal had not yet registered any interest.
