Vodohospodárska Výstavba, a state run construction company located in Bratislava, is contemplating issuing bonds abroad to finance the completion of its dams, company representatives said. The bonds, worth $100 million (3,3 billion Sk), will most likely be denominated in deutsche marks and carry a maturity of 10-13 years. Since 1995, the company has obtained funds worth $400 million (13 billion Sk) from abroad, first in the form of a syndicated loan and then as a Eurobond issue, both of which came with a governmental guarantee. The prepared bond issue will be government-backed as well.
