“Our requalification programmes mean a lot, not only for Volkswagen Slovakia, but also for education in Slovakia,” Albrecht Reimold, CEO of VW SK, said on September 9. “The dual-education system, with 80 percent of learning practical skills and 20 percent of learning theory, is proving to be very successful. I can already say that all 22 mechatronics students from the first year will find stable jobs in our company in maintenance.”

The company reports high interest in its courses.

“Five hundred applicants were interested in 48 places in the courses [starting this September],” Ralf Mayer, the head of the centre said, as cited by the website of the Trend weekly.
