VW Slovakia has been preparing to launch production of another off-road model, the Audi Pikes Peak. The cars have a high added value and their production in the Bratislava plant contributed to the year-on-year growth in the company's foreign trade surplus.

This surged by 121.8 percent to Sk73.2 billion (€1.8 billion) over 2003. The fact that 59 percent of Touareg components come from Slovak suppliers contributed to the better foreign trade figures.
