Whirlpool sees revenues rise

POPRAD-based white-goods manufacturer Whirlpool Slovakia reported revenues of Sk7 billion (167 million euro) in 2002, with sales in Slovakia rising nearly 8 per cent year on year to Sk1.24 billion (29.6 million euro).

The company invested Sk605 million (14.5 million euro) in its Poprad operation last year, and says it expects to invest a further 25 million euro in 2003.

Eight-two per cent of Whirlpool Slovakia's revenues are from foreign sales to 27 countries, mainly neighbouring Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic.
