Heineken, a global brewer, recognises this beer brand as strategic in central and eastern Europe. Zlatý Bažant is brewed under licence in the Czech Republic, the Russian Federation, Hungary and Belarus, the TASR newswire reported in mid December.

Heineken Slovensko sold one million hectolitres of Zlatý Bažant during the first 10 months of 2011 and almost half of that was consumed in Slovakia.

“We are glad that we managed to reach this level during the first 10 months of the year,” said Hana Šimková, manager for corporate relations at Heineken Slovensko, as quoted by TASR. “It proves the popularity of this brand in Slovakia as well as abroad. This is a great motivation for us.”
