Government halts sale of Slovak Telekom shares via stock exchange
THE FLOATING of Slovak Telekom shares on the stock exchange over the past couple of days has set the value of the state’s 49-percent stake in the company at €750 million which is the minimum price laid down by the government. However, it has decided to put a halt to the stock exchange sale in light of a new bid, Finance and Economy Minister Peter Kažimír said on May 7.

Alza will employ 100 people
INTERNET shop Alza will build a new logistics centre in Slovakia. It will be situated in Senec (near Bratislava) and will employ some 100 people.
State begins process for Slovak Telekom sell off
ECONOMY Minister Pavol Pavlis is obliged to enable a transfer of the state’s 34-percent stake in mobile operator Slovak Telekom to the National Property Fund (FNM) which owns another 15 percent in the company by April 8. This stems from a government decision made at its session on April 1 and paves the way for the privatization of the company.
Swan is entitled to national roaming
MOBILE operator Swan has already covered more than 20 percent of Slovakia’s population via the granted frequencies and thus is entitled to national roaming.
