Even though the majority of tourist routes closed on November 1 and this will last until June 15, there are routes in the High Tatras where keen hikers may walk even in the winter.

One of those is the Batizovská Valley in the central part of the High Tatras. It is about five kilometres long and significantly marked by glacial activity. The most beautiful lake of the valley is Batizovské mountain lake. Besides this, other lakes can be found here too, as the tatry.sk website informed.

The shortest routes to Batizovské mountain lake are from Vyšné Hágy or via the Tatranská Magistrála route from the Popradské mountain lake. It can also be reached from the other side from the Velické mountain lake.
