Artificial intelligence (AI) is finding its place in human resources in Slovakia, as in many other places. Companies use it when recruiting new employees, during the onboarding process, or when answering the most common HR-related questions. But experts warn that while AI may be of great help, its usage, especially in the selection process, has its limits.

“The main thing to avoid in the selection process is that, in the end, AI does not communicate with other AIs, computer to computer,” Mariana Turanová, managing partner at Target Executive Search in Slovakia, told The Slovak Spectator. “It is necessary to sensitively consider up to what point it is good to leave the choice to artificial intelligence and when to physically take over.”
The increasing use of technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning is already transforming many aspects of recruitment, training and HR management. Automation and artificial intelligence were among the big topics in Slovakia last year.
“Companies explored the possibilities of incorporating artificial intelligence into selection processes, education and the overall functioning of companies,” Martin Huba, executive director of Synergie recruitment agency, told Obchod magazine. “This will certainly continue in the years to come, but 2023 can be seen as the beginning of a revolution that will bring automated forms of selection procedures or video interviews conducted by avatars that are indistinguishable from a live recruiter.”
