The biggest music festival ever held in Slovakia will bounce sound waves off the Little Carpathians from July 3-5, Friday to Sunday, in the Vajnory district of Bratislava. The festival, called "Seven," will showcase 21 bands including rock legend Bob Dylan as the event's last act.
Besides the folksy Dylan, the heavy metal band Prodigy and hard rockers Faith No More headline the festival's other big night, July 4. In total, nine international bands will participate along with 12 Slovak and Czech music groups. All tickets cost 980 Sk and are good for all three days. Concerts start at 2 pm with Slovak and Czech bands, with 30 minute breaks between each set. International bands are slated to begin at 7 pm.
All necessary facilities, such as food, phones, mail boxes and accommodation, are being taken care of at the festival grounds in ŠK Vajnory, about 15 minutes outside Bratislava's center. Special trams and buses between Vajnory, the city center, and train and bus stations will be scheduled for the three days in order to ship people to and from the festival. Tent camping is allowed on the festival grounds.
Tickets are in the form of private telephone cards made by Slovak Telecommunications, and are available at 117 Slovak post offices starting at the end of April. A ticket allows entrance and exit and includes medical and injury insurance on the festival grounds provided by Tatra a.s. and Lloyd's Bank of London.
Tickets will also be sold in the Czech republic at Bonton Land and Ticket Pro, in Austria at Ticket Express, and in Hungary at Ticket Express and Ibusz travel agencies.
The organizer of the event, a company called Lying Eight, expects to attract 100,000 people.
