New Irish Pub opens
Molly Melloune is an Irish revolutionary icon, and her name was recently borrowed to adorn a newly opened Irish Pub in Prešov. Get this - the pub is open from 8:00 to 7:00 in the morning. That's right. 23 hours a day.
Guinness is a fair 70 Sk per pint, and if you look around, it looks a lot likely the Dubliner in Bratislava. Indeed, Dubliner owner Robbie Norton seems to be suspiciously familiar with the number of beers (12) on tap in Prešov. In case you can't stomach real Irish beer, regional favorites like Šariš, Topvar and Plzeň are on offer. Food is mostly barbecued delicacies.
The pub was opened at the same time as the Sigord 98 Festival, which offered open-air concerts of country and folk music. The festival also hosted an original Irish group, Dún an Duras, who were scorching in an amazing concert on September 4 to open the pub. Slovenská ulica, Tel.: 091-7133-11312
