Bratislava CHAMPIONSHIP: MORE than 2,400 dancers from 17 countries have applied for the 3rd DiscoWorld International and European Championship that will be held in Bratislava between September 8 and 12. During these days full of music, sweat, victories (and losses), young people will compete in various categories such as Disco Dance, Street Dance, Jazz Dance and Ballet as soloists, duos or ensembles up to 24 members. Although not showing professional dancers, strict selection criteria should ensure a high quality for the event. DiscoWorld, under the auspices of the International Dance Organisation, will take place at the Sibamac Arena (National Tennis Centre) at Príkopova 6, starting daily at 10:00. EXHIBITION: THE Slovak National Museum (SNM) has added another reason to visit Bojnice Castle, which thanks to its romantic appeal serves as the setting for Slovak and foreign fairy-tale movies. The castle is hosting an interesting exhibition, open until September 30, called The Adventure of Restoration which presents the fruits of the SNM restorers’ meticulous work. Together with viewing paintings, sculptures and items of furniture of considerable historical value, visitors will be able to watch restorers at work, from preliminary planning to final completion.
