MUSIC:THE COFFE Lands Projekt of Eddy Portella brings a live musical evening with Latino musicians to a boat on the Danube River. On October 14 at 19:00, Latin-folk-chill-out music will sound on board the Loď Café, anchored at the Tyršovo Embankment in Bratislava, in a programme called “De todo un poco” as performed by Peruvian/Slovak percussionist and singer Eddy Portella and Slovak guitar player/singer Pavol Bereza. FESTIVAL:THE NON-COMMERCIAL, international, music-film-art festival Barbakan focuses specifically on presenting European culture. The festival takes place between October 10 and 14 at several sites in Banská Bystrica. Films are divided into several sections such as Focus on Iran and Domestic Harvest, music includes bands like Plastic Swans, or Kubo Ursiny & Provisorium, and there will be a host of accompanying events. OPERA: Plášť (Il Tabarro) & Gianni Schicchi – Two playlets by Giacomo Puccini premiere at the State Theatre, as adapted by Ondrej Olos, directed by Jan Antonín Pitínsky, and conducted by Igor Dohovič and Ondrej Olos. Both are full of surprising turns, from the more dramatic Il Tabarro to the more humorous Gianni Schicchi, Olos said, stressing that both main characters are written for baritone.
