FESTIVAL: THE WINE and cuisine of Slovakia’s Nitra Region and Italy’s Tuscany will converge at the Nitra Wine Festival on November 8-9. Tuscan red wine and meat products will go up against Nitra’s white wine, duck specialties and cheeses. CHOIR MUSIC: Žilina Voce Magna 2013 – The International Festival of Choir Music brings together Slovak, Czech and Polish choirs to sing during three days the works of various composers, including the world premiere of Jevgenij Iršai’s Stabat Mater. On Friday, the festival starts with a parade along Žilina’s streets, and on Saturday it continues with a gala programme, concluding on Sunday with festive masses in local churches.
