ORIGINALLY only the winner of the Million Dance reality show was supposed to go to the Broadway Dance Center. But Orange Slovensko granted this opportunity to all finalists.
The winner, Daniela Edlingerová from Banská Bystrica, received a guaranteed contract worth Sk1 million (€26,026) and a monthly scholarship to attend the dance academy in New York's Broadway Dance Center. Along with her, a two-week stay at the prestigious Broadway school was granted to the rest of the show's finalists.
"The previous weeks proved that Million Dance generated an exceptionally strong group of talented dancers. It would be pity, if they all didn't receive the chance to improve further," said the general director of Orange Slovensko, Pavol Lančarič.
Cyril and Method celebrated at Devín
THE BANK holiday on July 5 annually pays tribute to Saint Cyril and St Method, highly significant figures in Slovak history and nationhood. Their missionary activities during the Great Moravian period brought Christianity and education to the Slavs.
This year marks the 1,120th anniversary of St Method's death on today's territory of Slovakia. The occasion inspired the Association of Slovaks in Switzerland to organize a celebration to remember the saints on July 5 at Devín castle. A discussion on Cyril and Method's message and a mass at Devín's church will open the event. Around 15:15, people will form a parade at the church and accompanied by music walk up to Devín castle. A cultural programme under the fortress will run from 17:15.
