BRATISLAVA
CONTEMPORARY Irish artist Brian Maguire presents 50 of his paintings to the Slovak public at the Danubiana Museum in Čunovo until June 17. Collectively entitled Works From 5 Projects 89/93, the large paintings from the late 1980s capture Maguire's stays in several Irish prisons. As a teacher and artist, he has worked in jails in Ireland, Poland, the USA, and Brazil over the last 17 years. Currently, Maguire teaches at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. The Danubiana Museum is located 15 kilometres from Bratislava at Vodné dielo (Water Works) Čuňovo and is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 20:00. Admission is Sk30, Sk60.
