THE CZECH Hradišťan Dulcimer Band and Jura Pavlica arrive in Slovakia to perform a concert at the Za Zrkadlom (Behind the Mirror) Club March 8 at 20:00. Hradišťan is one of the oldest and most renowned Moravian dulcimer bands. The music ensemble was formed together with a dance group in Uherské Hradiště in 1950. Since 1975, when Jura Pavlica became its artistic director and first violinist, the group has changed from playing straight folk music to free interpretations of traditional tunes as well as a wide range of untraditional numbers. THE THIRD Kofola session introduces the four-member Abuse project, an interesting development on the contemporary independent electronic music scene. Led by Vlado Ďurajka, a former DJ, it mixes music from trip-pop through nu-jazz and ambient to break-beat, hip-hop and lo-fi-pop. The concert takes place within a tour promoting the latest Abuse CD, The Great Outdoors. The concert starts March 12 at 20:00 at Záriečie Station culture centre in Žilina. Tickets cost Sk80 and Sk50.
