German theatre in Banská Bystrica

THE MATEJ Bel university of Banská Bystrica will host the second annual International Festival of German-Speaking Student Theatre from April 6 until April 11. The festival will feature performances by student theatre groups from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Hungary. The project is a follow-up to a highly successful event organised last year in Brno, Czech Republic.

Students will perform classical and modern plays by authors such as Dürenmatt, Büchner, and von Horváth, and their performances will be accompanied by workshops and improvisation sessions.

The 10 performances will be staged in the Bábkové divadlo na Rázcestí (Puppet Theatre at the Junction), Škuteckého 14, Banská Bystrica. Tickets (Sk40-50) are available either one hour before the show in the theatre or in advance at the university's faculty for German studies, Tajovského 51, room 117.
