Multi-fest in Trenčín

A FESTIVAL entitled At One Table will take place on the terrace of the restaurant U vodníka on Štúrovo námestie (Štúr Square) in Trenčín from August 15 to August 17.

The first day of the festival, Friday, August 15, will be devoted to ethnic music performances. A Slovak group that sings and dances in the flamenco style, the Flamenquitos, will open the show at 19:00. Next will be a performance by Ladakh, a joint project of two Czech percussionists, Pavel Fajt and Václav Korínek, presenting a synthesis of live rhythms and computer sounds. At 21:00, an energetic Slovak ensemble, Mango Molas, will come to play its modification of African and Latin American music called post etno.

On Saturday, August 16 at 19:00 a program called Dancing in the Rhythm of Rock 'n' Roll starts. Enthusiasts of this kind of music should not miss the performance by the Marcel Woodman Rock'n'Roll Band from the Czech Republic, offering a pure extract of the fifties and sixties with songs by such musicians as Bill Haley, Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry, though in Czech. The band's musicians perform in original costumes and play original instruments. The Slovak revival group Captain Slice will close the day with popular melodies from the sixties and seventies.

Sunday will belong to an electronic-music program called Orbital Night starting at 20:00 with a set by DJ Magálová followed by DJ Truhlík & Live Sax (saxophobia).
