Every first Sunday in a month, there will be a lecture/guided tour in the Slovak National Gallery offered in English, explaining one exhibition, one new acquisition or one aspect of an exhibition.
The March 5, 16:00 edition of the event called Sunday Rest will explore the 1st floor of the Esterházy Palace in Ľ. Štúra Square in Bratislava, the so-called Non-Permanent Exposition.
Adapted to the ongoing reconstruction of the SNG venues in the capital, the temporary exhibition of the historical collections of the SNG – Gothic and Baroque – allows visitors to approach the most important artworks of the 15th – 18th centuries in a different way, exploring old historical and artistic contexts, new aspects and connotations.
The lecturer will introduce unconventional names of sections, such as Space & Illusion, Type & Individual, Expression & Emotion, and Light & Darkness. Barbora Mistríková, assistant of the historical art collection, will offer new insights.
Admission is free.
