CONTEMPORARY dance and physical theatre are the focus of the Nu Dance festival, the 8th year of which begins on November 7 and lasts until November 12.

Although oriented primarily on Slovak choreographers and their works, the Bratislava-based festival has also lured a host of foreign performers and choreographers, offering performances, lectures, video-screenings and a debate. Apart from two premieres, it also offers new phenomena in contemporary dance and art, a work-of-art-in-progress, new forms of multimedia, commentary of a screening of dance videos, and the announcement of the first year of the NU Video Dance competition.

The festival, organised by the Association of Contemporary Dance, takes place in four venues in Bratislava and also strives to lure visitors outside the modern-dance community. More information can be found at nudancefest.sk.
