Šebestová’s Four racks up more prizes

FOUR, an animated film by Slovak director Ivana Šebestová, has won more accolades during its tour around the world. Its latest stop was Anonimul, a festival of independent film in Romania between August 11 and 17, where it received an Honourable Mention.

Ivana Zajacová, a producer from the feel me production company, told the SITA newswire that over the next few weeks Four will be screened at international short and animated film festivals in Italy, Croatia, Russia, Brazil, Spain, and Cyprus.

Four follows the intertwined lives of four women over the course of a single afternoon in the spring of 1937. It received Best Animated Film at both of Slovakia’s major award ceremonies, Slnko v Sieti and Igric. It also won Best European Short Film at the International Festival of Short Films in Archipelago, Italy.

At the Euhanea Movie Movement, an Italian festival of short and documentary films, Four received the main prize in the animated film category. In Poland, the Animator international festival awarded it an Honourable Mention for its screenplay. It also received the main prize at the Fest Anča in Žilina.
