The silo effect

There is still diversity in the folly on display on Facebook, even among ‘friends’ who aren’t overtly racist, crude or stupid.

It was as my wife was deleting her second Facebook friend in as many days – over the nomination of raunchy judge Brett Kavanaugh to the US Supreme Court – that I started to doubt the accepted wisdom that social media isolates us from contrary opinions.
