Activists wearing orange overalls similar to those worn by Guantanamo prisoners protested while locked in a cage.

The event marks the fifth anniversary of the transfer of the first prisoners to Guantanamo Bay, most of whom are suspected terrorists and are being held at the military base without indictment. Many have been tortured and treated inhumanly, the SITA news agency wrote.

Earlier in January, Amnesty International Slovakia asked Slovak Foreign Minister Ján Kubiš about Slovakia's position on the keeping of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay. The minister said the government supports the EU's opinion that Guantanamo does not meet the standards of just detention.
