THE ENDEAVOUR Europe Awards provide financial assistance to postgraduate students from participating countries in Europe (EU members, Norway, Switzerland, Croatia) to undertake, in any field of study, either a master's degree or a PhD in Australia. The Endeavour Europe Awards aim to strengthen ties between Australia and participating countries by showcasing Australia's education sector, strengthening mutual understanding, and developing award holders' knowledge and skills.
Up to 20 awards will be offered, each for a period of 12 months. The award does not cover tuition fees, but includes a travel allowance ($AUD4,500), establishment allowance ($AUD4,000) and a monthly stipend (up to 12 months on a pro-rata basis, $AUD2,500 per month). Eligible candidates are permanent residents of a participating country and physically resident in a country other than Australia; have completed their undergraduate degree with high academic achievement; are proficient in English; and have applied or gained admission to a master's or PhD course in Australia. Applications for the Endeavour Europe Award 2009 are open until July 31, 2008. For more information on Australian universities, go to www.studyinaustralia.gov.au.
