Average salary increased 4.9 percent y-o-y in industry in December 2009

The average nominal monthly salary in December 2009 rose fastest year-on-year in industry – by 4.9 percent, the Statistics Office reported on February 10 as quoted by the TASR.

The average nominal monthly salary in December 2009 rose fastest year-on-year in industry – by 4.9 percent, the Statistics Office reported on February 10 as quoted by the TASR.

The average nominal monthly salary also increased in accommodation by 1.7 percent year-on-year, in restaurants and pubs by 1.5 percent, and in retail by 1.1 percent. Conversely, average nominal monthly salaries declined y-o-y in other sectors: in transport and storage by 4.5 percent; in construction by 2.7 percent; in wholesale by 2.4 percent; in information and communications by 2.1 percent; and in the sale and maintenance of motor vehicles by 1.7 percent

In 2009 as a whole, average nominal salary for employees working in information and communications reached €1,541.91 per month. TASR
