The first fountain to be reconstructed is the historical one on the central square. Almost €442,000 will go on replacing the fountain’s technical systems. The appearance of the stone fountain, dating back to 1895, will not be changed. Repairs should be completed by the end of June 2009.

The Banská Bystrica city council will also announce a public tender for the first-ever renovation of the fountain on National Street, worth almost €100,000, Sme wrote.

Additionally, the city administration is preparing a tender to develop a design for reconstruction of the fountain in front of the Banská Bystrica city office. According to Sme, the city will pay about €37,000 for preparation of the design and the project documents.
