Belgian Punch to create 300 new jobs in Slovakia

THE BELGIAN company Punch plans to create 300 more jobs in the town of Namestovo in northern Slovakia.

Two companies belonging to the Punch International Group in Namestovo, Punch Campus and Punch Assemblies, employed nearly 2,000 people at the end of August in 2003.

Punch began to operate in Slovakia in 1994 when it established an assembly plant in Trnava. The company arrived in Namestovo in 1998 after acquiring the company United Electronics. The Namestovo-based Punch companies produce components for the electronics industry brands LG, Phillips, Xerox, Strobbe, and Xeikon.
