Bratislava airport announces its schedule for summer

On Sunday, March 31, the winter flight season ends and the summer one starts at Bratislava airport.
Over the next seven months, 38 regular flights to 35 destinations in 16 countries will be operated from the airport. Additionally, charter flights to 40 seaside resorts will be available.
Starting mid-May, a new regular flight to Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport, operated by Pegasus Airlines, will be added to the schedule. According to the SITA news agency, the Bratislava airport has introduced a direct line to the Turkish Riviera, specifically to the Antalya Coast. The airport further added that flights to Montenegro's capital, Podgorica, will be offered again.
As of April, the regular line to Athens will continue to run.
Seven airlines, including Aegean Airlines, Air Cairo, Air Montenegro, Pegasus Airlines, Ryanair, Smartwings, and Wizz Air, will operate regular air connections.

Ján Dráb, the director of the Institute for Environmental Policy, was dismissed on
MondayWednesday without being told a reason. The institution falls under the Environment Ministry, which is headed by Tomáš Taraba (SNS). Several other ministers decided to take a similar step in recent months. Taraba also dismissed several directors of national parks and protected nature areas.On Wednesday evening, the board of the Hungarian minority party Aliancia did not vote on the support of presidential candidate Peter Pellegrini. Some members of the board criticised their chair Krisztián Forró for supporting Pellegrini without an agreement with the party leadership.
Pellegrini said on Thursday that he doesn't have the expenses of his campaign published on his transparent account because he hasn't received invoices from the agency. Transparency International Slovakia found that Pellegrini's campaign is the most non-transparent campaign.
Dominika Cibulková, a retired Slovak tennis player with over 500,000 followers on Instagram, revealed that she will cast her vote for Pellegrini next week. In January 2021, shortly after Slovakia started vaccinating people against Covid-19, the player and her husband got jabbed although they didn't fall into the group of healthcare and social workers (priority group) and weren't on the list.
Štefan Harabin has denied that he would have supported Pellegrini ahead of the second round. The head of Harabin's campaign team, Miroslav Jureňa, spread the rumour about the support on Thursday. Harabin has sacked Jureňa.
Former defence minister Jaroslav Naď (Demokrati) wrote on social media on Thursday that more than 20,000 Defence Ministry workers will get a €500 bonus ahead of the second round of the presidential race. The ministry is led by Robert Kaliňák of the major ruling party Smer. Naď compared it to electoral corruption.

WEATHER FOR THE LONG WEEKEND: Daytime temperatures will range from 14 to 23 degrees Celsius on Friday. Initial forecasts suggest clear to partly cloudy skies with gradually increasing clouds in certain areas. There will be occasional showers in central Slovakia. Most of western Slovakia will be subject to wind weather warnings. The weather will be the same on Saturday and Sunday. Occasionally, expect small, temporary increases in cloudiness. The highest daytime temperatures will range from 20 to 25 degrees Celsius. Occasional showers or thunderstorms are likely in western Slovakia. On Monday, expect partly cloudy skies with the cloud cover intensifying as the day progresses. Occasional showers or thunderstorms are forecast, primarily in the western part of Slovakia. (SHMÚ)
