BRATISLAVA is more expensive than the Czech capital Prague, according to a chart prepared by the Swiss bank, UBS.
Bratislava ranked 54th of 70 world capitals evaluated by UBS it is 2005 chart, which calculated the results by comparing the prices of 115 select goods and services with local wages, the daily SME wrote.
According to the chart, Oslo in Norway is the most expensive city in the world, but if the expenses related to housing are included London comes as the most costly city.
While Bratislava ranked 54th, the Czech capital Prague is five places lower at 59th in the UBS chart. The Hungarian capital Budapest is the 41st most expensive city, and Polish capital Warsaw is 49th.
UBS also calculated that a person living in Bratislava, who earns an average local wage, must work for 51 minutes to earn a Big Mac. In Chicago, it is just nine minutes.
A resident of Prague has to work 40 minutes to buy a Big Mac, while in Warsaw and Budapest it is 42 minutes.
