MONTHS ahead of the year's end, Bratislava's town hall has started preparations for the 2004 New Year's celebrations in the city centre, when 40,000 people are expected to visit the Old Town.
The upcoming New Year's party should be accompanied by a symbolic coronation ceremony, an open air disco in the area bellow Michalská brána gate, as well as the traditional main show in the Hlávne námestie square.
A novelty in the upcoming New Year's celebration will be a round box placed in front of the national theatre building, into which people will be able to slip pieces of paper on which they will be encouraged to write their wishes for the new year.
