SLOVAK President Ivan Gašparovič assured Lithuanian officials February 28 that President Bush's road map to liberalize the US visa regime is being prepared. According to Gašparovič, the plan concerns all the Central and Eastern European (CEE) states that are NATO partners, which would include Lithuania, the TASR news agency reported.
At the same time Gašparovič interpreted Bush's words to indicate that change is necessary on both sides. In return for reform of the visa regime CEE states must work on the issues that have led to the need for the strict regime.
