The Slovak army will fix its Russian MiG-29 planes instead of buying new supersonic planes, the cabinet agreed on February 4.
The ministers approved the Defence Ministry's plan for the Slovak air force, which stipulates that Slovakia will not invest in a new air fleet. Defence Minister Juraj Liška said to the Slovak daily Pravda that Slovakia's partners in NATO would not object to the plan because the alliance does not require that the Slovak air force join possible joint military operations.
